Registered Nurse – Palliative Care – Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast Community Hospice Ltd, a registered charity is now seeking to employ registered nurses with palliative care experience or an interest in working towards the same. Our hospice, Katie Rose Cottage, is a six bedroom Hospice at Doonan on the Sunshine Coast providing 24 hour in patient care for the terminally ill in a homely environment.

Our Hospice is situated in the beautiful Hinterland 10 minutes from Noosa.

You must be available to participate in a seven day rotating roster. The position has competitive rates and benefits to offer suitable candidates.

The successful candidate will be able to meet the following key selection criteria:
· Mandatory requirements of the position are current Nursing Registration in Queensland and Queensland Police check.
· Previous experience / training or willingness to undertake training, in the delivery of a specialist palliative care nursing service.
· Understanding of Primary Care Standards 1 to 13 (Palliative Care Australia 2005).
· Commitment to and experience in working collaboratively with Palliative Care providers.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally with colleagues, guest, carers, palliative care providers, G.P.’s and palliative care consultants.
· Be respectful of views and opinions of others.
· Have good assessment and documentation skills.
· Be committed to and experienced in working collaboratively as a member of a team.
· Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional nursing education and mandatory training.
