Fundraising Volunteers

Fundraising volunteers play a vital role by helping to raise funds which support the hospice services delivery. There are a number of roles fundraising volunteers may choose to assist:

  • Help at the local markets
  • Participate in organised fundraising events in your local area
  • Help at one of our local charity shops
  • Promote hospice merchandise in your local area
  • Collecting good quality goods for sale at one of our charity shops or at the markets

As a Fundraising Volunteer for the Sunshine Coast Community Hospice you have the right to

  • Receive information about the Sunshine Coast Community Hospice
  • Have a reasonable understanding of line of accountability
  • Know who to turn to with problems or difficulties
  • Have your work valued by Sunshine Coast Community Hospice Service
  • Receive regular and constructive feedback on your performance
  • Be safe on the job when working
  • Have choices and negotiate choices
  • Say NO
  • Carry out your voluntary work without being exploited
  • Change your mind
  • Make mistakes
  • Not be responsible for other peoples problems

As a Fund Raising volunteer, your responsibilities are to

  • Be reliable
  • Be non-judgemental
  • Respect confidentiality
  • Ask for support whenever you need it
  • Give feedback and communicate relevant information
  • Recognise personal and external limitation on commitments
  • Respect the rights of Sunshine Coast Community Hospice colleagues
  • Notify appropriate person where possible if you are going to be late or absent
  • Not to get involved in any media discussions without first speaking with Fundraising Co-ordinators
  • Acknowledge decisions by Sunshine Coast Community Hospice
  • Be respectful to Sunshine Coast Community Hospice philosophy which is based on our professional code of conduct

Help Wanted

The Sunshine Coast Community Hospice are now interviewing for Charity Shop volunteers.

If you can commit between 2 and 4 hours per week to work in one of our shops either:

Bushlands Shopping Centre, 6 Swanbourne Way Noosaville
or
Katie Rose Boutique, 17 Obi Obi Road, Mapleton

Obtaining a Blue Card

Blue cards are issued by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian once it has carried out the Working with Children Check to see if a person is eligible to work in the areas of child-related work covered by the Commission’s Act.

If a person is eligible, they are issued a positive notice letter and a blue card. See more Blue Card information here.
