Peter & Judy's European Bike Trek Update - Hello from Turkey!

Sunday, 23 May
Because of the weather we thought we would forego any further island hopping and make our way to Cesme (Turkey).
It was only about a 40 minute trip and when we arrived at Cesme The Petes spotted a hire car place and suggested we zip up to Ephesus, so as to make maximum use of our time.
And so, we met the inimitable Mr Smelly from Blue Rent A Car. Although a bit on the smelly side, he is just the nicest person and a great introduction to Turkish hospitality.

On the 2nd February a morning tea was held at the Nambour RSL Club to hand over funds raised by a group of ladies for the Sunshine Coast Community Hospice.

Peter McDonald and Judy Malzard European Bike Trek Update - Hello from Athens!

Arrived in Athens Monday after a very long and sleepless flight, for me at least.  Peter enshrouded himself in his blanket and promptly snored his way through many hours of the flight. So, for much of the flight I was surrounded by the sonorous tones of fellow travellers, plus the guy next to me, who was also sleeping soundly, had his elbow stuck in my ear.  Not an experience I wish to repeat in a hurry.  Thank goodness I have six months to recover.
 
We have done all the touristy things, including, of course, the Acropolis which is truly amazing.

Westpac Art Exhibition

Congratulations to Westpac Bank Tewantin on their very successful Art Exhibition with all proceeds donated to Katie Rose Care Cottage.

Easels, paints, canvases etc were set up in the Tewantin branch of Westpac Bank the previous day for budding artists to produce their masterpieces for auction.  Thanks to Westpac Tewantin for supporting this fundraising initiative.

Help Wanted

The Sunshine Coast Community Hospice are now interviewing for Charity Shop volunteers.

If you can commit between 2 and 4 hours per week to work in one of our shops at any of the following locations:
