Lois has a clinical background and completed her Registered Nurse training in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia in the mid 1970’s. She continued to work in both acute and residential aged care until the early 1990’s. For the next five years Lois undertook administration roles, including a middle management role. In 1998 Lois commenced a study in Community and Human Services and on completion gained a role in Community/Social Housing. Over the next five years she moved to Community aged and disability care co-ordination roles, including a role as Care Manager for a new community care service. The last 10 years has seen roles as a community and business development manager, lifestyle manager, case manager and trainer of aged & disability care, lifestyle & leisure and community services added to her CV.
From 1999 to 2005 Lois was a Board member for Brisbane Youth Service. She also has vast experience in writing government tenders, and funding and grant applications. Lois holds a Diploma Applied Science (Community & Human Services), an Advanced Diploma Community Sector Management & Bachelor Social Science as well as TAA40104 – SAVE Training 2015.
